About me:

I am Tanya Thompson, the Owner, Director and Registered Manager of Heritage Healthcare North Tyneside. My career spans various fields, from business to healthcare, allowing me to bring a unique blend of skills to my role. With over 16 years of clinical experience as a paramedic and in primary care, I have extensive expertise in managing elderly and frail individuals and understanding their holistic needs. My strong communication skills, coupled with a kind, respectful, and empathetic approach to patient-centred care will enable me to deliver high-quality care.

Background:

My career journey has included working in human resources, sales and finance for 10 years before moving into healthcare, providing me with a broad skill set. I am an HCPC Registered Paramedic who progressed to a Clinical Manager and then onto an Advanced Practitioner. Throughout my career, I have gained invaluable experience working with elderly and frail populations, as well as interacting with diverse communities and health and social care professionals. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the critical importance of personalised, in-home care. I have a Master’s Degree in Practice Development and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice. These qualifications have enriched my knowledge in clinical practice, service improvement, leadership, and the importance of patient-centred care.

My Motivation:

My motivation is driven by a desire to bridge the gap between clinical expertise and compassionate care which inspired me to open Heritage Healthcare in North Tyneside and Northumberland area. I believe that genuine connection and empathy are as crucial to well-being as medical treatment. Witnessing the transformative power of dignified care inspires me to create a nurturing environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and supported. In establishing a domiciliary care business, my focus is on crafting a holistic approach that prioritises the unique needs and preferences of each client.
