Join Heritage Healthcare St Albans as a part-time Healthcare Assistant!
We’re seeking a caring, dependable Healthcare Assistant to join our team and deliver high-quality, person-centred home care services to clients across St Albans and the surrounding area. As this involves travel between client homes, having a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is strongly preferred.
JOB ROLE:
- Provide personal care including washing, dressing, continence and mobility support
- Assist with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, light household chores and shopping support
- Help with mobility and transfers as needed, using appropriate equipment safely
- Administer or prompt medication in line with care plans and follow safe handling procedures
- Offer companionship and emotional support — encouraging social interaction and helping clients maintain independence
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ health, wellbeing or living environment to your supervisor
- Keep accurate records of care delivered (daily logs, medication, observations)
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior care role experience is beneficial but not mandatory; training is provided.
- Compassion, desire to help, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Effective at addressing and resolving issues.
- Open to ongoing training and professional development.
