Our Visits to Blaby Congregational Church
POSTED: 05/06/2024
Directors, Deepti and Subhadra, as well as Registered Care Manager, Hannah have taken several trips to the Blaby Congregational Church in order to connect with the community.
At Heritage Healthcare Leicester, we believe in the power of community and the importance of fostering connections with those around us. Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting Blaby Congregational Church in Leicester, where we participated in some of their delightful events aimed at bringing people together
Coffee, Cake, and Conversation
During one our visits, we joined the “Coffee, Cake, and Conversation” event. It was a short yet sweet gathering where we enjoyed delicious treats and engaging conversations. The event primarily attracted older individuals who welcomed us with warmth and kindness. We spent our time helping solve puzzles, chatting, sharing jokes, and assisting with serving coffee. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community.
Friday’s Lunch
Another visit had us join the church’s Friday Lunch, where a two-course meal was served. This event is open to people of all ages, though it tends to attract a large number of older individuals. The sense of community was clear as we shared a meal and participated in various activities.
As a way to contribute towards the lunch, we baked a semolina cake, which was served with coffee after the two-course meal. The church also organised fun activities, including games and puzzles, which added to the lively and engaging atmosphere.
