At Heritage Healthcare Bristol we believe in going above and beyond to ensure we help our clients to lead happy, fulfilling lives.
For many individuals, loneliness can cast a heavy shadow, leaving them feeling isolated, particularly when mobility becomes a challenge. At Heritage Healthcare, we understand the importance of combating this sense of isolation, which is why we strive to go above and beyond to bring moments of joy into the lives of our clients.
Recently, our Care Coordinator, Hannah, organised a memorable experience for one of our clients. Meet Mike, a football enthusiast, and an unwavering supporter of Manchester United. Mike’s passion for the game runs deep but leaving home to attend matches has become a daunting task due to limited mobility.

Seizing the opportunity to bring a bit of excitement into Mike’s life, Hannah, a dedicated follower of Women’s football and a proud supporter of the Bristol City team, found the perfect solution. Bristol City Women were set to play the Manchester United Women in the Barclays Women’s Super League at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol. It was perfect, a day that not only promised a great game, but also a friendly rivalry.

Tickets were swiftly secured for the match on Sunday, 26th November. With seamless teamwork, our team assisted Mike in preparing for his special day. Hannah, alongside her partner Chelsey, extended their kindness by personally collecting Mike from his home, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey to the stadium, where they immersed themselves in the match.

At the end of the day, Manchester United won with a score of 2-0, much to Mike’s delight. However, amongst the excitement of the game, there was a minor disappointment – they had run out of Mike’s favourite pie. Nevertheless, the joy of being part of the live football experience far outweighed the taste of a pie. Mike cherished every moment of this rare outing, expressing his eagerness to go again.
This heartwarming day out wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and support of Hannah and Chelsey. From arranging seamless door-to-door transportation to providing assistance during their visit to the stadium, their commitment to ensuring Mike’s comfort and enjoyment was truly remarkable.
