Basic Life Support Training for Our Team
POSTED: 16/09/2024
In August our team participated in a crucial Basic Life Support training session led by Indie from First Aid Bristol. The intensive session covered essential life-saving techniques, including CPR and defibrillator use, ensuring our staff are well-prepared for emergencies.
On Saturday 24th August , several of our recently joined staff participated in a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session held at our Bradley Stoke office. The session, led by Indie from First Aid Bristol, provided our care assistants with both the theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice needed to respond effectively to life-threatening situations.
Intensive Training for Life-Saving Situations

The three-hour intensive training focused on teaching our care staff how to react quickly and efficiently in emergencies while waiting for professional medical assistance. They learned the importance of providing high-quality chest compressions as part of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and gained practical experience using a defibrillator.

Working in pairs, the staff practised their skills on one another, with Indie offering guidance and corrections throughout. While the subject matter was serious, Indie managed to keep the session engaging and informative, ensuring everyone was fully involved.
Grateful for Support
We’d also like to express our gratitude to some of our clients, who kindly adjusted their regular visit times to accommodate this crucial training session. Their flexibility allowed our carers to fully participate, further improving the level of care we can provide.
This training is another step in our commitment to ensuring our team is prepared for any situation and equipped with the skills as well as the confidence to provide the highest quality care.
