At Heritage Healthcare Bristol, we are fortunate to have our office located close to the Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve, a wonderful oasis of calm for the people of Bradley Stoke. With peaceful pathways stretching for miles and a variety of habitats to enjoy, it’s the perfect place to de-stress and recharge.
The reserve is maintained by the dedicated Three Brooks Nature Conservation Group, who rely heavily on volunteers to support their vital work.
Giving Back to the Community
Encouraging our staff to volunteer is an important part of our ethos. We believe in giving back to the community we serve, not just running a business for profit. By supporting projects like this, we help improve the local environment while also creating opportunities for our staff to connect with the community in new ways.
Caring for Staff Wellbeing
Caring for others can be challenging and emotionally demanding, so the wellbeing of our team is always a top priority. Volunteering provides a valuable change of pace, allowing staff to enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise, and time in nature. This helps them return to their roles refreshed, motivated, and mentally recharged.
Step Forward, Ashel!
One of our energetic care workers, Ashel, has recently started volunteering with the Three Brooks group during their monthly Saturday sessions. At a recent event, he helped improve habitats around the lake by managing invasive species and weeds.

In Ashel’s own words:
“It’s a uniquely enriching experience. I get to work alongside volunteers from a broad range of life experiences which has helped me to better understand my own challenges. Alongside this, I’m continually learning about nature and the skills needed to nurture this reserve.”
We’re incredibly proud of Ashel and delighted to support his volunteering journey. His enthusiasm and commitment are a shining example of how small acts can make a big difference – for the community, the environment, and for personal wellbeing.
