The scheme encourages employers to demonstrate support to defence and to align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant. Bronze Award holders pledge to:
- support the armed forces, including existing or prospective employees who are members of the community
- promote being armed forces-friendly
- be open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans, cadet instructors and military spouses/partners.
The ERS works in line with The Armed Forces Covenant, a commitment that focuses on supporting members of the armed forces and helping them have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen. This support includes helping individuals find employment, education, a home with their family and financial assistance. Heritage Healthcare Windsor have pledged to support military forces and veterans in the UK, showing respect and equality when it comes to employment and training.
The Company has already successfully employed home care staff from within the local armed forces community in Windsor so an informal chat can be arranged for anyone looking for advice from those team members regarding a career in care or moving onto employment following military service.
The Heritage Healthcare Windsor are already locally engaged with the armed forces, having recently hosted a fabulous surprise performance by the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards Corps of Drums for the Windsor and Eton Living Advent Calendar. You can see the performance on the Heritage Healthcare Windsor Facebook page.
