With hopes of the hot and sunny weather sticking around for a little longer, being safe in sun’s rays and hydrated in the heat is a priority. This summer, Heritage Healthcare has launched the Summer Safety campaign.
For the elders in our community, the heat can become overwhelming. High and humid temperatures can lead to heat-related illnesses, including dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. If windows are tough to open, older people living alone might not be able to get the fresh air they need.
At Heritage Healthcare, we provide home care services that support anyone needing an extra helping hand around the home with personal care, household duties and companionship. Our carers are able to visit clients regularly when they are needed and make sure everything is ok for the client and their home.
Carers are able to make sure the home is kept cool and refreshing, shaded from damaging sun rays and keeping a regular supply of cold water to keep hydrated, whilst also taking client’s out for day trips to special attractions or an easy walk around the local park.
During our Summer Safety campaign, we will not only be sharing helpful information and tips on keeping safe during hot days, but also sharing ideas for family days out so everyone can enjoy the summer holidays.
Keep an eye on our website and social media channels this month for more information on what we will be getting up to during our Summer Safety campaign.
