A Dignity in Care Champion believes that care services must be compassionate and person-centred and they are focused on taking action in order to achieve this.
The Care Team at Heritage Healthcare Wakefield are part of a group of over 80,000 people who have taken the pledge to be Dignity Champions; committing to challenging poor care, to act as good role models and, using the statements and guidelines of the campaign, to educate and inform all those working around them.
To celebrate, the care team got together at the Heritage Healthcare Wakefield office to enjoy cakes and fruit and discussed what Dignity meant to them and their clients.
Heritage Healthcare Wakefield’s Managing Director Marie Binks said “As a provider of care within the local community, it is extremely important that we provide a service which promotes dignity and respect in a professional manner. This encourages our service users to feel at ease and cared for well in their own homes. I want everyone to be treated how I’d like to be treated.”
