Heritage Healthcare Wakefield and Kirklees is recruiting a dedicated Senior Home Carer to join the team and support clients in their own homes. We are looking for an individual based in Wakefield or the surrounding areas to support our growing home care service.

As a Senior Carer, you will:

  • Undertake scheduled spot checks and supervised visits relating to carers work, and feedback requirements for additional training and development required to the Care Manager.
  • Assist the Care Manager with the induction process, shadowing and supervision of new Carers.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to service users’ care planning documents and risk assessments. Proactively contribute to individual care plans as changing needs are identified.
  • Undertake client monitoring visits and reviews in line with Heritage Healthcare’s policies and procedures to allow a streamlined, person-centred approach and for care plans to be adapted according to the changing needs of clients.
  • Undertake moving and handling and general risk assessments in line with the latest guidance and company policy. Highlight potential risks to Management to allow for a joined-up approach and ensure clients safety is at the forefront of our care visits.
  • Supervise and instruct Carers, providing support and giving help and guidance according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist with bringing on new care packages to allow for the smooth running of the service. This will also involve writing ‘person centred’ care plans.
  • Assist in the delivery of team meeting training as and when requested by the Manager.
  • Maintain detailed and quality reports and paperwork and assist the Manager with general office administration as and when required.

For this role, we require:

  • Flexibility for changing needs of clients and the needs of the business is an essential quality
  • Experienced in the care industry and have achieved or working towards at least a QCF Level 2 or equivalent
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Participation in the on-call rota to provide support to management, clients and carers outside of office hours
  • Attendance to all mandatory training days/courses as and when required and maintain and improve professional knowledge and competencies
  • Respect and protect all confidential and commercially sensitive information
  • Uphold the company’s core values and ethos of quality care, and follow policies and procedures at all times
