Heritage Healthcare to make May purple to support Stroke Association

May will be turning a shade of purple this month at Heritage Healthcare as they show their support for the Stroke Association.

make may purple

Make May Purple is an annual campaign hosted by the stroke charity to raise awareness and funds to support those affected by a stroke. This year, the theme is ‘Go Purple for Pounds’ and to help stroke survivors regain their independence, everyone is encouraged to wear purple.

A stroke is a life-threatening condition which occurs when the blood supply to the brain is cut off. It’s not just older people who can be affected by a stroke; one in four strokes in the UK happen to people who are of working age.

At Heritage Healthcare, our care and support services can help those living with the effects of a stroke to feel more comfortable in their own home. Independency is important, and each care package is tailored to each individual to match their health needs and lifestyle. Our care team are trained to the highest quality in all aspects of care and work closely with external healthcare professionals so each change in a service users health is catered for.

Throughout May, we will be sharing information about strokes so everyone understands what a stroke is, how to spot the signs and how to make someone’s life a little easier. Keep an eye out on our social media and in the Heritage Hub for more information about surviving a stroke.
