The care team of Heritage Healthcare North East are celebrating this morning after being crowned the winners of ‘Health Care Team of the Year’ at the Northern Echo Health and Care Awards 2021!
This was the first year the awards were held, and as social distancing restrictions were still in place, the award ceremony was host virtually for everyone to watch and enjoy. After a difficult year for everyone, the awards ceremony wanted to recognise the dedicated frontline workers who have worked hard to support service users, patients, staff and loved ones in the North East.
The Health and Care Awards was hosted on Thursday 25th March, from 7pm, hosted by presenter Kate Walby. The first category of the night was ‘Health Care Team of the Year’, with the sponsors of the award, County Durham Care Partnership, announcing the winner as Heritage Healthcare North East.
Registered Care Manager, Lisa Glass, was waiting in the wings via Zoom to accept the award and had a chat with the presenter. Lisa praised the fantastic work the Heritage Healthcare North East team have delivered to support clients within their own homes to help them feel safe and secure.
“I am so proud of the Heritage Healthcare North East team,” said Lisa Glass. “They have always worked hand to support care to service users, not just over this past year during the pandemic. Due to exceptional infection control maintained by our staff, we have experienced minimal impact of COVID-19 with our service users and staff members. There have been very few disruptions to our service, and we have been able to continue to deliver care packages to our current clients and welcome new individuals.”
Heritage Healthcare North East is focused on provided person-centred care to allow more people living in Darlington, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, to remain in the comfort of their own home for longer. Services include personal care, domestic help, companionship, respite care and supporting individuals with complex needs.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the North East care team ensured service users continued to receive their care packages and had access to essential items and medications. For those clients who live alone and don’t have family members living close by, the team have become a trusted companion, making sure they have social support to prevent isolation whilst they are shielding or during lockdowns.
