How Home Carers Impact the Lives of Others

How Home Carers Impact the Lives of Others

Last year, the nation saw the importance of carers and healthcare professionals who have worked tirelessly to support vulnerable people within their own homes.

In the spring of 2020, we all clapped for carers on our doorsteps to show support for those working on the frontline. The care team at Heritage Healthcare have been dedicated to delivering care to clients to help them remain safe at home during the most difficult of times.

We carefully create a care package based on a client’s needs and requirements to ensure they can continue to live independently in the comfort of their own home. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our care team have allowed clients to feel safe and secure, whilst supporting those who were recovering from coronavirus to settle back at home.

The care provided by our care team has had a big impact on the lives of our clients, as well as their loved ones who may not have been able to be with relatives as much as they had hoped this past year.

The services we provide at Heritage Healthcare include:

Personal care – this is the provision of tasks such as dressing, grooming, bathing, eating and medication. Regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we provide personal care with dignity and in a sensitive manner. Accepting support with personal care tasks can be difficult for some clients, but with the help of our highly trained and trusted care team, we can reassure them the service is provided with the utmost respect.

Domestic and household help – keeping the home clean has been a priority to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. For many of our clients, keeping up with household chores can become a struggle. Our team are on hand to keep the home clean and tidy so clients can feel comfortable and proud of their home.

Companionship – As many people have faced social isolation this past year due to the UK ‘lockdowns’; knowing a Home Carer will be visiting has helped keep our client’s spirits high. With our companionship service, our Home Carers become a trusted friend to clients, helping to keep the mind active and to enjoy hobbies and interests together.

Dementia and complex needs – in many cases, our clients can be living with a lifelong or progressive health condition that prevents or delays them from completing daily tasks. In other circumstances, the needs of a client can become complex and attentive support is needed to help them be comfortable. Through our high-quality training, we ensure our care team can provide bespoke and dedicated care to clients with conditions, such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, the after-effects of a stroke or issues with mobility.
