Heritage Healthcare Harrow celebrates achieving CQC ‘Good’ rating

Heritage Healthcare Harrow is celebrating their fantastic results following its first inspection with the Care Quality Commission.

The local home care provider helps people living in Harrow, Ruislip, Pinner, and the surrounding areas to remain living independently within their own homes for longer.

Led by Managing Director, Mukilan Karuppiah, the care provider recently underwent their first Care Quality Commission inspection, which ensures care providers are meeting the legal requirements and regulations of providing personal care to clients. CQC also assess the quality of the service provided to the clients and to award the service with an official rating.

The inspection took place after the UK Government’s lockdown restrictions had been eased and was conducted safely, following social distancing guidelines. The inspector spoke with clients and care staff about the service. Five key areas are focused on during the inspection; is the service safe? Is the service effective? Is the service caring? Is the service responsive? And is the service well-led?

The CQC inspection led to Heritage Healthcare Harrow receiving a ‘Good’ rating in all areas. This is the first inspection the care provider has received since launching within the area in May 2020.

The inspection report commented on the support Heritage Healthcare Harrow delivers to clients within their home, saying “People and relatives told us care workers were kind, caring and treated them with dignity and respect. People’s independence was encouraged. People were able to make decisions about their care and this was respected by the service.”

Heritage Healthcare Harrow is proudly focused on delivering high-quality care to individuals in the local area and creating care plans based on their needs, wishes and requirements. “The service altered other professionals and worked with them when needed to ensure people were safe and received the care they required,” the CQC report continued. “People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.”

The care provider delivers various services, including personal care, household tasks, companionship, dementia care and supporting complex needs. Care visits can last from 30 minutes to full live-in care, with care plans created to the client’s unique needs and wishes to help them be independent at home for longer.
