On Thursday 6th September, we hosted our 17th Charity Golf Day to support St Teresa’s Hospice.
The sun stayed out as 23 teams of keen golfers from businesses and organisations joined us at Blackwell Grange Golf Club in Darlington. Golfers took on the 18-hole course, and joined us for a raffle and auction during the evening. The winners of the day were Middlesbrough-based Advanced Vehicle Leasing who accumulated 103 points, with the longest drive won by Phil Rocket, and nearest the pin won by Joe Cowper.
We are pleased to announce, with the fantastic support from all the teams and businesses, we have raised just short of £12,000 for St Teresa’s Hospice, adding to our overall total raised to date in excess of £220,000!
“Once again we have had a fantastic day with teams travelling from as far as Leeds, Newcastle and Sunderland to take part,” said Sally Pickersgill, Director at Heritage Healthcare and an honorary member of the Darlington and District Hospice Movement. “The golf day brings together incredible support from individuals and local businesses who not only enter the competition but who also provide prizes for the winners, raffle and our charity auction. St Teresa’s does incredible work and is such an important part of our community so it’s wonderful to see teams returning year on year to help us to continue our fundraising efforts.”
St Teresa’s Hospice support residents living in Darlington, South West Durham and North-Yorkshire who are affected by life-limiting illness. Their focus is entirely on enhancing quality of life and helping people to live with their illness, as comfortably as possible.
