‘Time for a Cuppa’ for Dementia UK

Every May, Dementia UK hosts ‘Time for a Cuppa’, a day dedicated to enjoying a cup of tea with someone to raise funds for Admiral Nurses.

The pandemic has put social and support groups on hold for many people, meaning those living with dementia and their primary caregivers have been isolated this past year. With the support from specialist Admiral Nurses and dedicated Home Carers, people with dementia have been able to continue to receive expert care at home.

Admiral Nurses provide specialist dementia support that families need. The nurses provide one-to-one support with guidance and solutions to everyday living. At Heritage Healthcare Epsom, we work with clients, their loved ones and other healthcare professionals, including Admiral Nurses, to create a care plan based on an individual’s needs and wishes. Every experience with dementia is unique, so having high-quality and bespoke support is vital for individuals living with the conditions.

As the UK’s COVID-19 ‘lockdown’ restrictions start to lift, more families and friends can now start to meet up outdoors. A ‘Time for a Cuppa’ fundraising event may not be able to be hosted on the same scale it has before, but there are now more opportunities to spend time with others. Whether it is a socially distanced cup of tea in the garden or a promise to meet up in the future, ‘Time for a Cuppa’ is about letting people you care about know you want to spend quality time with them whilst raising funds for the life-changing Admiral Nurses.

Although ‘Time For a Cuppa’ week is between 1st – 8th May, a fundraising event can be hosted on any day throughout May. A fundraising pack to inspire you can be downloaded on the Dementia UK website by clicking here.
