Last week our amazing head office team put on their oven mitts and got their bake on for Cupcake Day in support of Alzheimer’s Society!
Alzheimer’s Society is a UK care and research charity, which supports people affected by dementia. There are currently an estimated 850,000 people in the UK living with dementia and this number is expected to rise to 1.6 million in the next 20 years. Currently, 4.9% of the people with dementia in the UK are under 65.
On Friday 18th June 2021, our team set up a bake sale outside our Head Office and put their tasty treats on display to help raise some dough for a good cause, and bring awareness to the local community.
Their efforts did not go unnoticed, as many of our Darlington residents stopped by and asked questions about our event. Some of our residents shared very touching stories of their personal experience with Dementia and how Alzheimer’s Society has supported them and their loved ones, which highlighted the importance of this charity and the impact they make on people’s lives.
During our Cupcake Day lunchtime event, the team have raised a total of £66.66 for the fantastic cause, raised awareness within the community and helped make our locals day’s a little sweeter!
